Many of our clients are already aware that my dog Cody has Polyradiculoneuritis or Coonhound Paralysis. In September 2006 he was scratched by a raccoon. Some raccoons carry a virus in their saliva that can paralize a dog. It can happen from a scratch, bite, or even eating the same food. Luckily it isn't transferred from dog to dog and cats can't get it. Most dogs will fully recover. Unfortunately, for Cody, it appears to be permanent. It is a rare condition, but people should still be cautious. I would hate for any one else's dog to go through this. Luckily for me, I have a job where I can take Cody with me to work. He lives for this place and greeting all the people. Thank you to everyone who has been so kind and concerned about him. It is greatly appreciated.
